Best Western Plus Bayshore Inn at 3500 Broadway Street, Eureka, California.

Clean, comfortable bed, decent shower. Hotel is slightly out of town but there are some restaurants close by. Eureka's downtown area feels unsafe late night and early morning. My ground-floor room is dark/dingy but fine for one night. Breakfast looked to be decent though didn't eat. I'd probably stay here again if I came through Eureka. Dog-friendly.

The hotel and staff were very nice. The room was clean and while the pool was closed for maintenance, everything else was in working order. Unfortunately, the City of Eureka is NOT a quality destination for vacation. The homeless/drug population is out of control and dominate wherever you go. This hotel is near the water but unfortunately because of all the homeless/drug activity, there is garbage and dog poop everywhere and if you are a lone person walking you probably won't feel comfortable or safe. If you're here for work and don't care about the local amenities or if you're just stopping to sleep and then leave - this hotel would definitely work for you.

There was a 45 minute wait to get checked in. Parking was terrible. There were no towels in the pool area, leading to a wet and cold walk back to our room. The breakfast was decent, though they were slow to refill things. There was a new employee who was not allowed to help check in until there was a lobby full and a line out the door. Danielle did a great job checking us in on her second day of work. Both employees doing check in stayed positive and friendly through the extended wait time. Another employee came in and took a picture of the long line in the lobby. That was a little weird. Maybe some training in his to discreetly take a photo for her? Room was clean, beds were comfortable.
